Lulu’s life changing story…

Lulu, an 11-year-old cavalier, had an accident resulting in her right forefoot being amputated when she was just under a year old. She managed to cope, as she knew no different. She unfortunately developed a benign tumor growth on her remaining left forefoot which has progressively worsened in the past 5-6 years. This has led to hyperextension of the carpal bone region in that foot/paw, making it difficult for her to distribute her weight, limiting her confidence and ability not only to walk but run and play as she should

Pawionic became aware of Lulu’s remarkable story through visiting local pet grooming and care facilities. We instantly felt compelled to work with Lulu’s owners to develop something sustainable that could change her situation. Using advanced 3D printing, we created a custom prosthetic right foreleg specifically for Lulu, designed to give her a chance at a pain-free life.

After fitting the prosthetic, the transformation was immediate and astounding. Within just five minutes of receiving her prosthetic, Lulu was not just walking, but running, filled with a newfound energy. Her adaptation to the prosthetic brought about a remarkable change: she became more energetic, visibly happier, and for the first time in years, her tail was no longer tucked in distress.

This dramatic turnaround in Lulu’s demeanor wasn’t just about her newfound mobility; it was a testament to her indomitable spirit, the love and dedication of her owner, and the possibilities that modern technology can bring to our lives.
